Eduard Vrdoljak is Professor and Head of the Oncology Centre at the Clinical Hospital in Split, Croatia and, at present, visiting Professor at the Medical School in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina and visiting Professor at University of Skopje Faculty of Medicine, Republic of Macedonia. Professor Vrdoljak obtained his diploma from the University of Zagreb, Croatia in 1989. After obtaining a medical degree, he continued his training at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, TX, USA. In 1995, he obtained his PhD in oncology and finished his residency in oncology and radiotherapy.

Prof. Vrdoljak is currently Head of the Croatian Cooperative Group for Clinical Research in Oncology (CCGCRO), the South-Eastern European Research Oncology Group (SEEROG) and the Croatian Society of Oncology. He is a member of several cancer-related associations where he served at different levels such as member of the International Affairs Committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is an active member working as the faculty of the European School of Oncology.

Prof. Vrdoljak was awarded the 10th International Congress of Radiation Research Young Scientist Young Travel Award 1995, the World Association of Croatian Physicians Fellowship Award in 1995, the Croatian Science and Art Academy Award for the best scientist in 2008, the Town of Split’s personal award in 2008 and Science national award in 2014.

During his professional career, Prof. Vrdoljak has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, and is the author or co-author of many oncology-related books.
