Conference moderator, Member of Croatian Parliament, former Minister of Health. Dr. Varga has more than 27 years of relevant professional work experience as provider of health services and senior manager in a tertiary care hospital; payer of health services as director of the National Health Insurance Fund; policy maker as minister of health and deputy minister of health; and as an international consultant for healthcare reforms in close communication with international organizations, government institutions, and non-governmental organizations.

Dr. Varga also has more than 13 years of work experience in healthcare restructuring activities including designing and executing the National (master) Plan for the Development of Hospitals in the Republic of Croatia from 2014 to 2016; reform of health organization payment systems includin the introduction of KPIs and QIs linked to outcomes; realigning the role of family medicine centers; emergency medicine reforms; and health institution financial rehabilitation.

He has extensive knowledge and experience as a senior and lead consultant involved in reforms for numerous projects in Western Europe, Central or Eastern Europe, and especially in the Western Balkan countries.
