Treatment Outcomes 2020/30 virtual conference

This international conference, organized under the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, hosted leading experts in the field of monitoring treatment outcomes and transforming the health systems towards validating quality of care for patients.

Croatia has identified Europe that develops as one of its core priorities during EU Presidency. A modern, cohesive and prosperous Europe depends on the health of its citizens and healthcare systems today face many challenges; from limited financial resources to ageing population, which make the transformation of the health systems even more urgent. We touched upon the question how to achieve the best outcomes for the invested resources and show concrete examples using oncology as a pilot.

In addition to the examples of EU Member States that have transformed their healthcare systems by monitoring the treatment outcomes and have thus directly influenced the patients’ life span, we presented also the basis for solid and sustainable foundations of any healthcare system that aims to have outcomes-oriented healthcare.

The importance of developing treatment guidelines for proper and timely diagnostics and treatment, a multidisciplinary approach to each diagnosis and the analysis of all available data are necessary to manage the healthcare system in a more efficient manner, achieve greater cost-effective value of healthcare, and ultimately, to achieve better outcomes for patients.
